William Baraniuk Obituary

William Baraniuk Obituary

William (Bill) was born February 28, 1941 in Holden, Alberta, to Florence and John Baraniuk. He was predeceased by his sisters, Helen and Martha, brothers-in-law, Jesse and Marion, his nephew, Dave, niece Diane, grandson Eric and his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda. He leaves behind his children;  Byron, Kevin (Jonel), Syd (Geralyn), Billy (Kerryn), Tammy, Greg (Jenn) and Cory (Connie), grandchildren; Chris, Chelsea, Dustin, Colton, Kyle, Katelyn, Courtney, Lily, Emily, Lane, Preston, Nash and Aiden, and great grandchildren; Ryker, August, Axel, Kinsley, Olive, Hannibal Olin and Elenor.

Bill had a diverse resume. He worked for McGavins and Palm Dairy Products, he drove cabs and had various other jobs throughout the years before his final career for CN as an automotive mechanic.

Bill was truly one of a kind. He had a large personality and loved to entertain people, a lot of times with singing and playing guitar, and also feeding everyone that visited. He was a wonderful cook. He always had a big garden and loved to share with family and friends.  He loved going camping and fishing with his family. He enjoyed being in his garage doing woodworking. The mini elevators in Ryley are just one example of his skill.

Bill will be missed dearly and lovingly remembered. The skills and life lessons that he taught his children and  grandchildren are invaluable and will continue to be passed on. As hard as it is to let him go, knowing he is back with his love, Wanda, gives some peace and comfort to those he left behind.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Holden Community Hall, 4919 – 49 Avenue, Holden. Interment will follow at Holden Cemetery.
