Waldemar Pohl

Waldemar Pohl Obituary

It is with sad hearts that we are here today in memory of the passing of Waldemar Pohl on October 11, 2023.  He will be sadly missed by his family.

He was predeceased by his parents Agatha and Gottlieb; brother Ernest and Sister Elsie.

Waldemar is survived by his sister Linda; brother Harry (Elaine); sister-in-law Hildegard; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was born March 14, 1936 in Volhynia, Poland.  During the war the family fled to West Germany.  Being sponsored by his mother and brothers in Alberta the family was able to immigrate to Canada when he was 12 years old.

After a few years in school and at a young age Waldemar started working in construction in Edmonton.  He had a long career in construction and later retired from it to help his parents on their farm in the Millet area.  Even after his parents passed away he continued farming for many years.  He would late retire from the farm and he enjoyed his time living at the Salem Mews in Leduc.

His health started to decline over the last few years and especially in the past six months.  With failing health he was placed into the Lynnwood Capital Care center in Edmonton where he passed away.

Respecting his wish, a private family interment will be held at the Rosehill Cemetery in Edmonton.

The family wishes to thank Capital Care Lynnwood Center for their compassionate care.
