It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Victor William Skinner on December 29, 2022, at the age of 48 years.
Victor was born in Hermitage, NL on May 18, 1974 and was the youngest of six children. He left home after high school to achieve his degree in psychology and criminology at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, NS. He was very proud of his degree.
Victor moved to Grande Prairie, AB in 2008 for a career opportunity and to be closer to his brother Shortly thereafter he met the love of his life, Melissa. They were Married and welcomed two beautiful boys into their life. In 2017 the family moved to Bawlf, AB where he continued on with his career. Victor’s family and friends were everything to him. You could often hear him laughing, singing and being silly and dancing around the house. He made his family laugh everyday. He loved his family fiercely. He had so much love to give and he touched the lives of so many with his positive energy. He was taken far too soon.
Victor is survived by his wife Melissa; sons Dylan and Noah; brothers Todd (Edna), Hughie (Benita); sisters Trudy (Glen MacNeil), Gloria (Edgar Morris) and in-laws Hughie and Judy Poole.
He was predeceased by his parents Ruby Louise and Clarence Harvey Skinner as well as his brother Clifford Skinner.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Saviours Anglican Church at Hermitage, with Rev. Roy Simms officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Hermitage.
