We’re sad to announce the passing of Victor Mearon, of Hay Lakes, Alberta on April 7, 2026, at the age of 82.

Victor grew up on a farm near High Prairie, Alberta and from an early age he loved operating heavy equipment, and he owned and operated trucks for 38 years.

His love for life included golfing (lots of laughs at certain shots), camping and many gatherings (better known as parties). These gatherings had lot’s of singing that was always enjoyed by everyone young and old. He also enjoyed driving to Saskatchewan numerous times over the years to pick up his mother-in-law, so she never had to catch the bus.

He had a deep love and respect for his mother that was real and forever, he even asked for her during these last six plus years with Alzheimer’s. Helen would always reassure him that she was at home baking bread, which made him happy.  Vic’s children and grandchildren were the loves of his life (Even in the home he’d ask where’s the kids!)  He will be deeply missed.

Victor is survived by his beloved wife Helen and his three children: Travis, Tracy (Peter) and grand daughter Sara. Troy (Karie) and grandson Joey and step grandchildren Brenden and Bree.

He is predeceased by his parents Joe and Eliza, his brothers: Edward, Henri, Joseph, Sidney, Fred (Florence), Tom, Clifford, Marvin and Frank. His sisters: Mary (Dick) (William), Irene, Bertha (Randy), Audrey (Harry) (Joe), Elva (Arnold) and numerous nieces and nephews.

The care and respect all staff showed to Victor and his family during his time at Rosehaven was outstanding thankyou.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., at Hay Lakes Recreation Centre, 118 Main Street, Hay Lakes, Alberta.  Victor will be laid to rest in Wilkie, Saskatchewan at a later date.
