THOMAS GEORGE NIVEN

Thomas Niven passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2026 in Camrose at the age of 89. Thomas was born April 5, 1936 at home in Baljennie, Saskatchewan to Evelyn and Gordon Niven.  A farmer in his heart, he worked his entire career in the industry. He loved visiting with family and participating in the Moose Lodge. He will be deeply missed.

Left to mourn are his five daughters; Deborah Forbes, Patricia Christian, Frances Veleti (Lorne), Linda Zeiser,  Mary Thiessen (Tom) and his stepson Darren Nelson. Thirteen grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren; one brother Cleve Bates, sister-in-law Ruth Niven and his special sister-cousins Pat Morgan, Judy Thiel, Teri Niven and their families. He is predeceased by his parents and stepfather Bob Bates, his partner of 37 years Sylvia Heather, brothers Peter and Guy, granddaughter Jennifer Forbes, stepgranddaughter Celina Zeiser and two sons-in-law, Alex Forbes and Rick Christian. 

A private family service will be held and a burial will take place at a later date in Saskatchewan.
