The family of Audrey Theone Jones of Tofield, Alberta, is saddened to announce her passing on November 21, 2025, at the age of 92 years. She will be remembered for her remarkable work ethic, generous spirit, and lifelong dedication to her community.

Theone is survived by her children, Elaine (Barry), Barry (Belinda), Mark (Shellie), and Lesley; eight grandchildren Carrie, Michelle, Denise, Kevin, Shane, Nicole, Jennifer, and Dustin; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Glenn (2012); her daughter, Betty (1998); her brothers Harold, Marvin, Bruce, and Ronald; and her brother-in-law, Arnold, and his wife, Edna.

Theone was born on December 18, 1932 in the Bardo area, to Robert and Lillian Berrecloth. As the only girl among seven brothers—Harold, Marvin, Ken, Bruce, Lorne, Ronald, and Brian—she learned early the value of hard work and resilience. She began her schooling in Bardo before continuing in the Ketchamoot and Hastings Lake districts. After graduating from Tofield School, she worked for a short time at the Tofield Hospital.

On November 21, 1953, Theone married Glenn Jones, son of Leslie and Mable Jones. After several years, they settled on the Jones family farm, where she led a busy and fulfilling life raising her family, assisting Glenn in all aspects of farm operations, and tending her large and flourishing gardens.

Theone and Glenn were avid Rodeo supporters. They are fondly remembered for their long-standing commitment to the Tofield Agricultural Society and for initiating the Tofield Rodeo with the Lakeland Rodeo Association in 1983.

Throughout her life, Theone was an active and dedicated member of many organizations and clubs, including the United Church Women, Tofield 4-H, the Tofield Garden Club, the Tofield Jam Session, and the Tofield Farmers’ Market. She earned numerous awards for her flowers and vegetables at horticultural fairs, a testament to her skill, patience, and love for gardening.

In 2011, Theone moved to The Villa in Tofield, where she enjoyed the company of both new and longtime friends. She was especially fond of the staff, whose kindness and care brought her joy each day.

Theone touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the community she served throughout her long and meaningful life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at The House Church, 5830 51 St, Tofield, AB.
