Ronald Calvin McMillan

February 14, 1948 – November 10, 2023

Ronald Calvin McMillan Sr. (Poppa) of Ryley, Alberta passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023 at the age of 75 years. Ron was a retired truck-driver, who was proud of his safe driving career and loved to tell stories of his travels across North America with his partner-in-crime Suzanne by his side. In his later retirement, Ron enjoyed wood-working and construction projects at home, including building many truck/car birdhouses, benches and picnic tables for the grandchildren.

He is survived lovingly by his wife Suzanne; children Stephanie, Richard (Nicole), Ronald Jr., Debbie (Buddy); 9 grandchildren: Randy (Kelsey), Ashley (Matt), Samantha, Kimberly, Calvin, Steven, Kendra, Nicholas (Tayler) & Cody; 8 great-grandchildren: Brent, Ivy, Abigail, Lynden, Mackenzie, Maveryck, Raelyn & Jaxon. He is also survived by his siblings: Stuart McMillan, Valerie McCrae, Judy Allen, Debbie McMillan, Karen Goyak & Wendy Coutts; and countless nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his parents Elsie & Leo McMillan, brothers Raymond, Eugene and Randy; sisters Deanna and Sandra; and grand-son Darren.

The family wishes to thank everyone who attended the gathering in May 2023 to honour Ron’s life. There will be no viewing or service as per Ron’s instruction.

Ron and Suzanne had an open-door policy which helped them gather their flock of “adopted” children; you all know who you are and were deeply loved by Ron.
