We announce the passing of Nola Fay Pogany (nee Morrison) on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the age of 78 years from metastatic breast cancer.
Nola was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on August 7, 1947. Nola was our family historian and loved investigating genealogy, gardening, travelling and most of all being with family.
Nola is survived by her husband Ken Pogany and their blended family of Wade (Lesa) Nesbitt, Vince Nesbitt, Kari (Nigel) Kucher, Derek (Robin) Pogany, and Kim (Byron) Myhre as well as several grandchildren. Also survived by her brother Darell Morrison and his family in Toronto, and grandson Bryce Abrams and his family in South Carolina.
Nola was predeceased by her daughter Amber Abrams in 2016, mother Avis Campbell Morrison & father Neil Andrew Porter Morrison.
Nola initially worked several years in Cytology at the Provincial Lab at the UofA, then retrained as an Electrical Engineering Technologist. She worked in several Industrial Plants, with 16 years at Celanese Canada, Edmonton. Then after initially retiring, she worked at WorleyParsons and Rally Engineering. Most enjoyable, the last couple of years were spent volunteering at Tofield Busy Bee thrift store.
As per Nola's wishes, there will be no service.
