Neil Sorken
October 31, 1958 to November 20, 2025
Neil James Sorken passed away peacefully in the Camrose hospital with family by his side, he was 67 years old. Neil was predeceased by his beloved wife Heather in 2019.
Neil was predeceased by his father Austin James Sorken born in Killam, Alberta. His mother Mildred (Millie) is a resident of Camrose where she stays close to family.
Neil is survived by his children Taralei, her husband Colter and granddaughter Aurora; son Dayton, granddaughter Moraya, and girlfriend Hailey; sister Susan; brother-in-law Dave; brother Darren; his nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews; he also leaves behind many friends he's met along the way and his favourite companion Stella (dog).
Neil was a one-of-a kind man quiet and kept to himself, he did enjoy his fishing trips with the boys and his children and grandchildren. He also was an avid hunter over the years. Neil loved to ride his motorcycle any chance he could, and spending time with his friends and family. He had so many stories to tell over the years and they will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Neil and Heather Ran Summit Lake Lodge for many years on the Alaska highway, which is why the family felt they needed to hear the phrase one last time:
~ Winding in and winding out, fills my mind with serious doubt, as to whether the lout who planned this route, was going to hell or coming out~.
