Marlene Malowany of Holden, Alberta was born on July 1, 1941 at Lamont, Alberta. She passed away on January 31, 2023 at the Viking Health Center at the age of 81 years.
Marlene was known as "Baba" by all that loved her. She had kindness in her heart for children and animals. Baba would make crocheted blankets for special people in her life and also donated baby blankets for many families at the Viking Hospital. She took interest in following curling and kept up with how the teams were doing. Marlene was a special person to all that knew her. Baba's warm smile and her goodness in her heart will be remembered by all.
Marlene is survived by her son Ron (Kelly); daughter Cynthia (Rob) Roulston; grandchildren Jesse, Joe and Taylor; brothers David (Veronica) Kiebiech and Andy (Irene) Kiebiech; nieces and nephews Rick, Kevin, Darlene, Jerry and Amanda; numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Joe and her parents Anne & Metro.
A Divine Liturgy will be held at the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church South Holden Farms at 10:30a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2023 with Rev. Mark Bayrock as celebrant. Cremation has taken place and inurnment will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery. Over flow seating will be available in the St. Mary's Hall.
Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Cemetery Fund.
