Mac (Kevin) McColgan, born and raised in England, and a proud Yorkshire man, fell for his Canadian love, Debbie, and they settled themselves in Camrose county. This vast prairie and endless sky captured his spirit and brought him contentment. Sadly, he died unexpectedly on January 10, 2025 at the age of 65.
His wife Debbie, and their four-legged family Charlie, Gibbs and Abby will miss him dearly. They take comfort in knowing he is together now with his 'best friend' Stella as she waits for him to throw the ball by the river.
Mac helped Debbie raise her children and he was proud of the people Annie and Aidan have become. Then when Aidan, with Brianna, welcomed little Ella and Emery, Mac was delighted by their antics and enjoyed the time he spent with them.
Extended family in the United Kingdom including siblings, nieces and nephews along with two of his oldest, dearest friends, Trevor and Ness, round out the complement of those who most keenly grieve his loss.
Mac was a creative person and often wrote verse. Here is his final gift to us that shows how much this prairie, his home, meant to him...
A coyote's home is in open fields where the wheat and barley grow.
They sing their song in greeting to old friends passing by.
As the night rolls on the dawn will rise and like the wheat and barley the silence grows.
Respecting Mac's wishes, there will be no funeral.
