Louise was born to Mabel and Alf Anderson in Strongfield, Saskatchewan on January 22, 1934. She was the third of nine siblings. Louise had a mischievous spark, a natural ability to care for others, and a sense of duty and sacrifice beyond her years. At 12 years of age with limited musical training, Louise started playing the piano for Church. As a young teen she left home to work as a nanny while attending school Louise sent home whatever she earned to help support her siblings.

After graduation, Louise moved to Pambrun, Saskatchewan and attended Millar College of the Bible. It was there that she met Harley Hammond -- whom she later married on April 19,1955. Two years later, they started their family having 5 children in just under 6 years. These years were a busy blur as she raised her family and to maintain her sanity, all the children were in bed by 8 o’clock and Louise would spend an hour or two playing the piano. This is a memory cherished by all the children. Louise volunteered in her church, hosted countless missionaries, worked as head cook at camp 25 years in a row, and provided piano accompaniment to a multitude of singers, instrumentalists, and choirs. Louise was a wonderful baker specializing in bread, buns and cinnamon rolls. She decorated cakes for many special occasions. Louise was a skilled seamstress and enjoyed knitting. She would often be seen knitting while attending various functions.

Louise and Harley moved from Shaunavon, Saskatchewan to Tofield In 1994 where she opened Mom’s Ice Cream Corral. During these years, she enjoyed spending time with her ever-growing family. She was active in Tofield Alliance Church and devoted a portion of each day to God’s Word. She continued to enjoy playing the piano and spent time in her garden. Everyone knew Louise as a prayer warrior, a strong matriarch, and a faithful servant of Christ.
