Lester was born in Edmonton, AB on December 19, 1939. He grew up in the Kingman area.
After grade 12, he attended Camrose Lutheran College and Lakeland School of Agriculture where he received his Agricultural Diploma. On August 22, 1964, Lester married carol Cunningham from Kelsey and they bought the Christenson homestead. They had two children, Charlene Wolokoff of Camrose, and Kevin Christenson of Kingman. With his knowledge of farming and agriculture he formed a partnership and together they built Miquelon Hills Golf Course.
Lester retired in 1996 and sold his shares. He moved to Kingman and his son Kevin took over the family farm. His wife Carol passed away in 1983 after a long battle with MS.
Lester spent his winters down in Yuma, Arizona where he met Viann McDonald.
His love of dancing kept him active and socializing at all the local music events. After his brain cancer diagnosis, he sold his house and moved to Camrose.
He is survived by his daughter Charlene Wolokoff; son Kevin Christenson; three grandchildren, Taylor, Chris, and Curtis; his long-time friend Viann; four stepchildren Cordell, Angela, Terry, and Gwen; two sisters Colleen Brasco and Phyllis Haselgruber and one brother Colin Christenson.
He will be missed by so many relatives, friends, and neighbors.
Lester was predeceased by wife Carol; sister Glynnis Franklin; mother Vera Meyers and father Clifford Christenson.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 3, 2023 in the Kingman Community Hall, Kingman.
