Joseph Voegtlin Obituary

On December 15, Joseph John Voegtlin passed away peacefully at the age of 98 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Lois (Wilfred Barranoik), Thelma, Wayne (Roxanne) and Lyle: his grandchildren Natane (Christopher Clemens), Dane (Jennifer), Ethan (Meghan), Autumn (Garrett) and Carter (Grace); his great grandchildren Orrin, Lucas, Merrick, Brooklyn and Ava as well as step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Joseph will be missed by his in-laws Freda Voegtlin, Betty Stauffer and Harley and Gloria Stauffer as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Florence, infant son, Harold, his parents and siblings Mary (Fred) Martin, Paul and Ruth (Donald) Yoder.

He loved his family and enjoyed their time together. He especially enjoyed when the grandchildren came to play dominos with him.

His strong faith helped him navigate the storms of life - the loss of loved ones and the challenges of aging.

A special thank you to the staff and residents at Sunshine Villa in Tofield for their support and care and also to the staff at Bethany Meadows in Camrose.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Salem Mennonite Church south of Tofield  (1 mile north of intersection TWP492 - Range Road 184). Memorial donations may be made to MCC or the charity of one’s choice.
