It is with deep sorrow, we share the passing of George Bernard Thomas. Born November 30th, 1952 and passed away peacefully in the loving embrace of his wife, Mary and his daughter April on August 10th, 2024.
George is survived by his wife Mary, of 52 years, his three children; April, Adam and Donovan (Jessica). Seven grandchildren; Quinlan, Caeley, Kelsey, Amber, Wyatt, Noah and Gabe. His mother, Elizabeth Thomas and four sisters and one brother.
Mary was George's lifetime love, his children and grandchildren were the apple of his eye. He was a dedicated family man who worked in many construction trades, taking him all across Canada, calling Cape Breton Island "The Home of His Heart". George loved to help everyone, always ready to lend a hand and stand up for what was right to support the people he loved. His work family was considered his second family.
He will be deeply missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
A funeral mass will take place September 20, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. Location will be at St Francis Xavier Catholic Church (3605 50th Ave Camrose, Alberta).
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Mary's hospital in Camrose, especially Unit 2 and Dr. Christopher Nichol. The University of Alberta doctors, who cared for George over the years. Dr. Gordon Searles and our home care team. Special thanks to Father Kris Schmidt.
