George Raymond Martell Obituary

George Raymond Martell of Killam, formerly of White Rock, B.C., passed away on October 1, 2024 at the age of 80 years. He is survived by his wife Alice Spicer-Martell, numerous family and friends.

George was known by his shortened middle name.... RAY.  My husbands constant companion was his smart fat bossy cat, Raymonde, which was my gift for his 74th birthday. He had informed me that a cat was nothing but trouble and he was not going to have any part of this fur baby even if we were rescuing it from death. Now, that never happened since they were always together. He would feed her, they went for walks, she slept at his feet or by him, she supervised him when he shaved and Ray was in charge of her litter box. They talked for hours and often shared noodles or a homemade muffin. There was a deal struck ... if I took care of the Boss Cat after he died, he would save me a spot in heaven. St. Peter will be expecting me, the love of his life, in about 31.5 years. Ray was an Army man, brother, loving husband, father and grandfather. We had a blended family together for over 33 years. He had a sense of humor unlike anyone else and he always made sure his well worn Tetley Hat was on before stepping outside.

The Love of God and perseverance helped us with our roller coaster of life together which I am extremely grateful for to this day.
