Garry Wayne Stensrud passed away peacefully at home on June 12, 2025, at the age of 75. Garry was born in Tofield, Alberta to Mildred and Walter Stensrud on February 27, 1950.In 1971, Garry married his life-long partner, Dianne Shott, and together they raised three children, Kevin, Shelly and Michelle. Although Garry only completed grade 7, being the stubborn man he was, he eventually started his own business, investing in a backhoe in 1973. This then led into a corral cleaning business, which he started in 1993 and successfully ran for 23 years. A playful character, Garry always had friends and family surrounding him on his farm and in his favourite place, ‘the shop’.

Garry is survived by his loving wife of almost 54 years, Dianne, his mother, Mildred, three children; Kevin (Stacey), Shelly (Dave) and Michelle (Gary).  Eleven grandchildren: Justin (Shelby), Katherine, Shannon, Shyla (Rob), Crystal, Desirae (Ryan), Austin (Heidi), Shyanne, Creed, Braeden (Jhara) and Christian. Great-grandchildren: Amber (Gryphon), Hailey, Neveah, Mya, Dayton, Brielle, Kingston, Sturgill, Colter, Ashtyn, Rhyzen, Khyron, Guillien, Lawson and Casen. His sister, Lola (Ron), his brother, Dale (Colleen) and numerous family and friends.  Garry was predeceased by his father, Walter, his brother-in-law, Donald Wagner, his brother-in law, Donnie Shott and his sister-in law, Darlene Chromik.

Garry will be missed, forever in the hearts and minds of those he leaves behind.

A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the Ryley Community Center, 5103-49 St in Ryley, Alberta. Interment will follow at Ryley Cemetery.
