Bobby McCarty Obituary

Bobby McCarty passed peacefully on July 25, 2025 at his home in Camrose at the age of 63.

Bobby was born and raised in Camrose, Alberta. He lived with his mother and father (Ford & Janice McCarty) in a small house down by Sparling School with his 5 siblings; Sherlen, Loreen, Stan, Tim and Tammy.

Bob was always into sports and athletics. He broke the record for the 500 meter run in high school. Growing up around all of his dad’s cars he became a big car enthusiast. His favourite car was his first vehicle: The ‘69 Red Dodge charger. He played slow pitch on the Roadrunners team for several years (he was #99 of course after his favourite hockey player Wayne Gretzky).  He enjoyed backpacking and mountain climbing and loved to bike ride. He would ride all the way from Camrose to Red Deer on weekends in a ridiculously short amount of time, often 2.5 - 3 hours. Bobby really enjoyed his music and I’m sure every neighbour to the end of the block would know because he always had to have the best stereo and speakers.  Bobby worked as a drapery installer in Camrose for many years. He did well at this profession due to his keen eye and particular attention to design and detail. He later worked as a Health Care aide where his warm hearted, loving and silly nature really helped the people he was caring for.

Bobby was a dedicated and loving father who raised and cared for his two children that he had with June Ross (Brandon & Jillian Ross).  He was also very close to his grandson (Deklan Ross). He was his pride and joy and was always with him from the day he was born. Taking Deklan out on nature adventures and making walking sticks, collecting cars, building crafts and playing games were some of their favorite things to do together.

Bobby always had a great sense of humour and a quick wit. His energy was infectious, he lit up every room and always had everyone laughing and happy.

He will be deeply missed.

A private celebration will take place at a later date with his family and friends.
